The Name Translation (TNT) Bible from Gateway Church in Richmond, Indiana, is now a free online reader to help Christians share Scripture using only a phone.

RICHMOND, IN, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Gateway Church in Richmond, Indiana, today announced the launch of The Name Translation (TNT) Bible online reader, a free, searchable version of the Bible available at ntbible.org. The TNT Bible is the result of more than a decade of research by Pastor Christopher Monaghan, Senior Leader at Gateway Church, who studied the meaning behind nearly 3,300 proper names in the Bible and placed each definition directly in the text next to the name itself.

The online reader lets users look up the biblical meaning of a name in seconds. They can then navigate the full text of all 66 books of the Bible, with each name's origin and meaning built directly into the verse. The tool is designed for evangelism in ordinary, everyday settings, requiring no pulpit and no printed Bible, only a phone and a name.

"Names prophesy the connection between identity and destiny," said Monaghan, author of the TNT Bible. "The Bible reminds us that names have authority. When someone discovers what their own name means and sees it connected to Scripture, it opens a door to a conversation that a sermon alone often can't."

The TNT Bible grew out of Monaghan's research into the Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic roots behind biblical names and the connections between a person's name and their story throughout Scripture. Jacob is one example: his name means "heel grabber," and it was later changed to Israel, "one who struggles with God." Another is Simon, who was renamed Peter, "stone," when he confessed Jesus as the Christ. The TNT Bible places meanings like these throughout the text, so readers encounter them as they read without needing a separate concordance or word study.

Churches and ministry leaders can use the free name-lookup tool as an entry point for outreach, whether at community events, in conversation, or by sharing a link from a phone. The full reader gives congregations and individual readers a complete, searchable text with book and chapter navigation intended for everyday reading as well as study.

"This started as a personal conviction that names matter to God," Monaghan said. "Now it's something any church or any believer can use to start a conversation, without needing anything more than what's already in their pocket."

To keep the TNT Bible free to the public, Gateway Church is inviting sponsors to help cover hosting and continued development of the online reader. Churches, ministries, businesses, and individuals interested in sponsorship can find details on the TNT Bible website.

The Name Translation Bible and its name-meaning lookup tool are available now at no cost at https://ntbible.org. Churches and organizations interested in using the tool for outreach, events, or teaching can find more information on the site.
