Out + EXCELLENT WEEKEND

The 501(c)(3) nonprofit and its co-founders convene queer champions, entrepreneurs, culture creators, and community leaders for three days of connection.

OUT + EXCELLENT WEEKEND is about more than nightlife, it’s about resourcing our people at the highest level and reminding every queer person in the room that they are worthy of excellence”
— K Stewart, Co Founder

OAKLAND, CA, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The K. Stewart Foundation (KSF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building safe, affirming pathways to parenthood, wellness, and economic stability for families, will present its signature OUT + EXCELLENT WEEKEND during Oakland Pride weekend, August 14–16, 2026. Held in the heart of downtown Oakland, the weekend is a high-level convening designed to elevate Queer and LGBTQIA+ individuals through curated programming, cultural celebration, and community building.

Founded in 2023, The K. Stewart Foundation centers Black and Brown, LGBTQIA+, and women-led families who have historically been excluded from traditional systems of care and support. The Foundation operates on a simple belief: when all families are resourced, culturally affirmed, and protected, entire communities transform and thrive.
A Weekend Built to Elevate the Community
The OUT + EXCELLENT WEEKEND (Oakland Pride Edition) brings together LGBTQIA+ champions, allies, entrepreneurs, culture creators, parents, and community leaders to share honest stories of becoming, achieving, and belonging. The weekend blends substantive programming with joy-forward cultural experiences.

Programming highlights include:
• A VIP Meet + Greet on Friday, August 14, a curated national space for sapphic connection, queer joy, and LGBTQIA+ excellence inviting all guests to gather for the culture.
• A full-day conference featuring workshops, panel discussions, honest conversation, and community healing.
• An elevated, intimate concert experience with recording artist Erica Mason on Saturday, August 15.
• A VIP evening gathering at Fluid 510, Oakland’s premier LGBTQIA+ lounge, to close the weekend in celebration.
Out-of-town guests are hosted at the Kissel Uptown Oakland Hotel, positioning the weekend as a national destination for queer community and connection during Oakland Pride.

From the Co-Founders
“OUT + EXCELLENT WEEKEND is about more than nightlife, it’s about resourcing our people at the highest level and reminding every queer person in the room that they are worthy of excellence,” said K. Stewart, Co-Founder of The K. Stewart Foundation. “We build spaces where our community doesn’t just feel welcome; they feel seen elevated.”
“Everything we do is rooted in service,” said Kira Lee-Stewart, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. “Our programming exists to move our community toward wellness, economic stability, and belonging, and to make sure Black, Brown, LGBTQIA+, and women-led families have a seat at the table they helped build.”

A Proven Commitment to the Bay Area
The K. Stewart Foundation’s work is anchored in a growing record of community impact and recognition. In 2025, the Foundation launched its inaugural OUT + EXCELLENT Charity Gala, a fundraiser and awards celebration honoring Bay Area LGBTQIA+ leaders, with proceeds supporting the Foundation’s programming and its goal of establishing a dedicated queer women-centered community space. The Gala has been covered by the Bay Area Reporter and Oakland North as part of the region’s Oakland Pride celebrations.

The Foundation has also partnered with the City of Oakland - alongside the Oakland City Council, Council member Rowena Brown, and the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center - to co-host Oakland’s first LGBTQ+ Job Fair, creating inclusive pathways to employment and resources for LGBTQIA+ job seekers. Through targeted community fundraisers, including its #Fight4Farrah campaign supporting a queer Bay Area mother facing breast cancer, KSF continues to deliver direct, tangible support to the families it serves.
